Staying with 5.4.20 Linux kernel

Anticipating release of a new EasyOS soon, I compiled the 5.4.23 kernel. After running it on my HP midi-tower for about five minutes, the desktop froze. I muttered under my breath "what have they done this time?!"

My HP has not frozen with the 5.4.20 kernel, so staying with that. Running 5.4.20 now, no problems. It really is a concern that minor version changes are causing major stability changes.
